Joyalukkas Foundation Donates Rs. 2 Crores for Ashraya Charitable Society, Kottarakkara

The Joyalukkas Foundation has donated two crore rupees towards the development of a state-of-the-art rehabilitation centre for the underprivileged in Kottarakkara, Kollam. The donation was formally made at a gathering at the Kollam Press Club Hall on April 13, 2024. Mr. George T A, Assistant Coordinator of the Joyalukkas Foundation, presented a cheque for Rs. 2 crores to Mr. Kalayapuram Jose, General Secretary of Ashraya Charitable Society.

This substantial contribution will fund a five-story building, spanning 50,000 square feet, equipped with 150 rooms and 20 dormitories, and facilities including a library, recreation room, fitness centre, and mini-theatre. The centre will cater to a diverse people in need including orphaned children, the elderly, palliative care patients, individuals with disabilities, and mental health patients.

The event saw the participation of several prominent figures: Joyalukkas Foundation Assistant Coordinator George T A, Ashraya Charitable Society General Secretary Kalayapuram Jose, Jolly Silks Retail Manager Mahesh M J, Ashraya Vice President G Muralidharan Master, and Ashraya Treasurer K.G. Alexander. Further, Kollam Joyalukkas Foundation Coordinator T. Arun Kumar, P.R.O. N. Viswesaran Pillai, Kollam Rotary Club President Shibu Rauthar, Kerala Human Rights Protection Committee State President Ayathil Ansar, and Kollam Elders Forum Secretary Netaji Rajendran were also in attendance, along with other staff from Joyalukkas and Ashraya, and around 100 people including media persons. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the foundation's mission to support and uplift Kerala’s underprivileged communities.
