Mother and Child Program
It is a daring and novel program initiated by Paalana Hospital Palakkad, as per which Paalana will adopt poor pregnant ladies for meeting their medical needs from the early stages of their pregnancy.
Their prenatal and post -natal care including the cost of Caesarean section is met in this program . Presently they have adopted 100 pregnant women under this program .The cost assessed for a normal delivery is Rs. 31,900, and for a Caesarean delivery is Rs. 50,000. Through this unique program ,they hope to protect many a poor women and children from malnutrition, poor medical care and the consequent death.
When Fr. Walter, Director of Paalana approached Foundation for support , we had no need of a second thought. On Thursday 9th Sept. morning , we reached Paalana with a cheque and handed it over to Fr. Walter CMI .Mr. P.P.Jose, Chief Coordinator,J A Foundation, Sri Anish, Asst Manager Joyalukkas Palakkad, Fr. Antony Asaripambil, Asst Director, Miss. Anjali Social Worker ,Mr. Ramesh and Afsal were also present on the occasion.
