Refrigerator for Destitute Women.
There are 80 nos aged and sickly women in Annai Theressa Illam, an old age home run by the Sisters of Charity, the congregation initiated by Saint Mother Teresa, at Salem. Many of the inmates are discarded old women who have none to approach for help. Some are brought in by the police and others from hospitals where these invalid ladies are unclaimed by the relatives.
On the eve of Indian Republic Day, our Salem Manager, Sri Anish K Antony delivered a refrigerator to the Illam for the use of the inmates on behalf of Joyalukkas Foundation . The sister-in-charge of the house expressed their gratitude for the help.
