THE JOY OF SNEHARAM.
Sneharam is a special school for differently abled, situated at Manalur in Thrissur Dist. Over 200 students are being trained in this school. Hostel provision is very much limited and therefore most of the students are day-scholars. The bus that used to collect the children from homes is very old and therefore not dependable. The school authorities approached Joyalukkas Foundation for helping them to buy a bus. Foundation studied the whereabouts of the school and came to a decision to provide a bus. We placed an order for a bus having 34 seats immediately. It was nearly 1 month later that the bus came to the dealer. The whole school was happy and they arranged a function to welcome the Bus. On Thursday 29th Feb.'24 the bus reached the school compound.
The teachers and students together decorated the bus Rev. Fr. Prince Poovathingal, Vicar St. Ignatius Church Manalur, blessed the bus. A meeting followed with Rev. Sr. Venma Provincial Superior on the presidential chair. PTA President Sri. T R Joy welcomed the audience followed by the handing over of the Bus Keys to Rev. Sr. Bellarmine Corporate Manager by Mrs. Jolly Joy Alukkas, M.D Jolly Silks. Sri. Simon Thekkath, President Manalur Grama Panchayat inaugurated the function.
Rev. Fr. Prince Poovathinkal, delivered the benedictory address. The following individuals Rakesh Kaniyamparambil, local ward Member, Sri P P Jose, Chief Coordinator Joyalukkas foundation, Rev. Sr. Bellarmine, Sri. George T A, Asst. Coordinator and Smt. Ambily Mohanan etc. offered felicitations. Thereafter the students presented a few dance programmes enjoyed fully well by the audience. Sr. Mariya Prakash, Headmistress Sneharaam Special School conveyed her special thanks to the audience and all the well-wishers without whose support the school would not have grown to this size.
